At a meeting early in 2009 it was suggested that a publication of some sort could be produced to display some of the writing and poetry by the members. Over the next three or four months articles were collected and Terry and Elizabeth edited them ready for inclusion in whatever form the publication might take. A magazine format was settled on, and a design formulated by Graham. The magazine, entitled 'Pen&Ink' eventually ended with 48 pages, and included a colour section with artwork by local artist, Sally McKenna on a theme of Raftery.
In the meantime, Terry worked hard to procure funding to assist in getting the magazine printed. It was achieved, thanks to assistance by Mayo North East LEADER Partnership Company, through the Rural Development Programme, which is part-funded by the European Union and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
The 'Pen&Ink' magazine was completed by GMI in Mayo and printed by Modern Printers in Kilkenny. It was launched at the 2009 Raftery Festival, and copies can be purchased at the places listed here.
